Crops Diagnosis Using Digital Image Processing and Precision Agriculture Technologies
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper presents the results of the design and implementation of a system for capturing and processing images of agricultural crops. The design includes the development of software and hardware for image acquisition using a model helicopter equipped with video cameras with a resolution of 640x480 pixels. A software application was developed for performing differential correction of errors generated by the Global Positioning System (GPS) and for allowing the monitoring of the position of the helicopter in real time. A telemetry system consisting of an inertial measurement unit, a magnetometer, a pressure and altitude sensor, one GPS and two photo cameras were developed. Finally, image processing software was developed to determine some vegetation indexes and generation of three-dimensional maps of crops.
