Abstract

The educational attention of blind people implies the use of tools that favor their participation and access to information. In this work we sought to design and implement a space for multisensory stimulation where the aim was to improve the learning of the Braille system of blind students of an educational institution. The study consisted of four phases: an initial immersion, an exploration, an implementation phase, and an analysis and evaluation phase. It was evidenced that the cause and the moment of appearance of the blindness determined the development of the participants and that, therefore, guaranteeing a timely stimulation of their perceptual processing contributes to overcoming their writing difficulties. In conclusion, it was established that the school should promote training based on the use of the senses and on the recognition of the body as a mediating element of knowledge, so that these students are motivated to learn.
