Abstract

Dropping out of school is a problem that affects education, and that is present throughout the country, regardless of the economic, family or personal situation of the student, there will always be factors that affect this phenomenon more than others. In San Andrés Islas, it is evident that educational dropout has become an obstacle that puts the development and future of many young people at risk. This article aims to analyze the factors that influence the school dropout of young people between 14 -16 years of San Andrés Islands, based on the documentary review that analyzes economic and family difficulties, motivation, adaptation problems, and identifying the different reasons that led young people to the decision to withdraw from the educational system. The foregoing led the researchers to carry out a systematic review to identify: What are the factors that influence the school dropout of young people between 14 and 16 years of age in the San Andrés Islands? Based on official reports established by the government, and deepening with national and international investigations. After analyzing the available documentation, interrelated factors were identified, linked to the problem of school dropout among the youth of San Andrés Island, ranging from personal aspects of the student to social and family influences, in addition to the scarcity of opportunities and resources aggravated by the particular situation of the island. In this context, the complex nature of the problem stands out, making it imperative to adopt measures to improve educational conditions in the region.
