Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present a critical reflection on the implementation of pedagogical strategies for the integral management and use of plastic waste in educational institutions based on a collection of information from different experiences. In view of the above, among the strategies proposed in this review document is to promote in students some of the objectives of sustainable development in particular: the sustainable use of resources, quality education, responsible production and consumption. This work presents the positive aspects of environmental education, highlighting that through research it is possible to sensitize and awaken critical thinking that allows students to take action in the face of environmental problems, especially solid waste, in addition to strengthening teamwork, autonomous learning and attitudes of responsibility with the environment from a perspective of information collection standing out in most of the works  the search for solutions that help improve the quality of life of people without deteriorating the environment, agglomerate problems for the future or transfer them to other parts of the planet within a process that promotes active, critical, participatory learning, forges values, skills and knowledge to motivate students to change their behavior and thus form a sustainable future.
