Abstract
The diagnosis of the first cases of the COVID-19 virus in different cities of Colombia, a period of social isolation was decreed that changed the way of communicating and relating to others. Considering that universities allow the concentration of a large part of the population, the way to continue with the teaching process was reconsidered without it posing a risk to the physical and emotional health of the students. In the case of the university where this study is carried out, the institution with the intention of offering teachers an adequate academic space to carry out their activity in the classroom. But he finds himself with the difficulty that, being empty, the classrooms presented the phenomenon of reverberation that prevents the students at home from hearing clearly the message sent by the teachers, impacting the quality of the academic environment, presenting deficiencies, although from a technological point of view, optimal conditions are had, negatively impacting the comfort and perception of well-being of students and teachers, as well as their health, which is why this study was carried out. From the findings found, it is concluded that the intelligibility values decrease as the reverberation time increases, which can be improved with the application of acoustic absorption materials, with which reverberation can be improved by at least 31 and up to 100%.
