Abstract

The department of North of Santander (Colombia), where the Province of Pamplona is located, is the country´s second peach producer. The objective was to determine an explanatory economic profitability model for twenty seven peach producers, in order to evaluate how the variables production cost, yield, income and crop age affects economic profitability. The research was based on field studies and a cross-sectional methodology was used. A structured survey was conducted, once the data was analyzed, and the validity tests were carried out results showed that the proposed variables explained the variations in the economic profitability and that the model did not present problems of normality, collinearity, heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation, therefore in accordance with the proposed model.
