Abstract
Norberto Bobbio, the Italian legal and political scientist and philosopher, in his reflections on essays, speeches and books, emphasized the crucial issues of public life, including democracy, peace and human rights . His attention was drawn to the relevance of democracy, which he devoted to rich studies from different theoretical perspectives. As a European intellectual and western illustrator par excellence, his interest was focused on democracy, its rules of the game, the procedure, the formal and substantial nature and its relation to peace and human rights. Democracy, its defense and conservation, and the dynamic character of it, are widely outlined in its bibliography. This paper presents some notes about democracy in Norberto Bobbio and its importance for world peace and the guarantee of human rights, especially in this convulsed Latin America.
