Abstract

Human rights and the concept of living with dignity represent a complex amalgamation of ontological and axiological elements that manifest through their effective implementation. This complexity is deepened by the diverse array of rights, each distinct yet integral to human dignity, such as the rights to life, liberty, work, nationality, and security, and by their acknowledgment within the international framework and political action, encompassing the transition from theoretical abstraction to the establishment of institutions, administrative procedures, and daily practices. In an interconnected global context, recent developments underscore the interrelatedness of previously perceived separate entities. This understanding necessitates interdisciplinary and collaborative methodologies capable of acknowledging the multiplicity of contexts and vulnerabilities involved in the problem. Consequently, there is a demand for reflections that elucidate the boundaries, responsibilities, and practicalities of translating rights rather than offering a definitive catalog of solutions. With this awareness, the notion of life with dignity emerges as an interpretive framework for addressing the various dimensions reshaping material citizenship today, with particular focus on gender equality and violence prevention, health and its accessibility, the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) systems, and public management in relation to these diverse constructs.
