Abstract

Maritime transport represents 90% of the international movement of cargo, being the engine of the global economy, but facing high administrative costs and the negative impact on the environment.    Blockchain technology has become a positive catalyst for the efficiency of the administrative processes of the maritime sector supported by the transmission of data in real time: eliminating the presentation of printed documents, streamlining the logistics operation of cargo, improving the control of traceability, and providing an environmentally friendly solution.  Blockchain represents cost savings and the creation of efficient trading systems on all parties involved.
