Wage Differential by Gender in Colombia: A comparative analysis between the departments of Huila and Nariño

Abstract
The economic benefit of work is an aspect that directly affects the level of being a person and, by extension, of society in general. The present job analyses the determining of the wage gap for gender and the department of Huila and Nariño for the year 2018, using dates from GEIH for the decomposition of Oaxaca- Blinder with selection bias correction. The results show the big breach for Huila 20,7 % and Nariño 10,3% indicating that men win in the same proportion with women. Taking into account that women have in average more educational years, the unique effect does not explain the all difference if not the remuneration effect. This difference could to be the mom's role that carry the entrepreneurs to infer productivity and prefer to remunerate men more than women.
