Abstract

Teleworking, driven by the COVID-19 pandemic and current technological conditions, has transformed the way companies manage human talent. This study proposes a methodology for assigning telework based on the integral evaluation of positions and people in a Colombian agro-industrial company. Technical and personal variables were proposed and analyzed based on the perception of the employee and his or her immediate boss, these were validated by the Human Management Directorate and the General Management together along with a pilot test over a smaller sample (Human Management Collaborators) which complemented the adjustment of the tool, in addition, a data collection model was designed and created through the application of surveys to each person in administrative positions, with a total of 191 collaborators in 165 different positions. The results enabled the identification of objective conditions, and adaptable to each person evaluated, for the differentiated assignment of telework days, optimizing decision-making and improving the perception of equity and organizational trust. This experience contributes to strengthening scientific literature related to telework and its assignment methodologies that allow properly identifying eligible profiles. It also demonstrates that it is possible to institutionalize remote work in a fair and transparent way, supported by accessible tools and internally validated processes.
