Copyright and Licensing Policy
Ownership
Authors publishing in CESTA retain the moral rights and copyright of their works. They also remain academically, ethically, and legally responsible for the content of their manuscripts.
Publishing License
Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to edit, publish, reproduce, distribute, publicly communicate, preserve, and index the article in digital format, in any medium or format, including databases, indexing systems, repositories, and digital preservation mechanisms.
Creative Commons Licensing
Articles published in CESTA are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License —CC BY-NC-ND 4.0—, unless otherwise stated.
This license allows any user to:
- Share: copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
Under the following conditions:
- Attribution: give appropriate credit to the authors and the journal as the original source, include a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made.
- NonCommercial: not use the material for commercial purposes.
- NoDerivatives: if the material is remixed, transformed, or built upon, the modified material may not be distributed.
Third-Party Material
If the manuscript includes material protected by third-party rights, such as figures, tables, photographs, instruments, software, or other resources, authors must obtain the corresponding permissions when applicable and clearly state the source and reuse conditions of such material.
Independence from Website Terms
The copyright terms applicable to published articles are independent of the journal website’s terms of use and do not contradict CESTA’s open access policy or the Creative Commons license adopted by the journal.
Responsibility
The content of the articles is the sole responsibility of the authors. The journal does not use the expression “All rights reserved” for content published in open access.
