Complaints, Claims, and Appeals Policy

CESTA receives and handles complaints related to the editorial process, claims concerning possible breaches of publication ethics, and appeals against editorial decisions. Such communications must be sent to the journal’s official email address, cesta@cuc.edu.co, clearly indicating the manuscript title or identification code, as applicable, together with a detailed description of the case and, whenever possible, the supporting evidence.

The handling of complaints, claims, and appeals is governed by the principles of confidentiality, transparency, impartiality, and due process. Upon receipt of the communication, the journal may acknowledge receipt, conduct a preliminary review of the case, and, where necessary, submit it for assessment by the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Committee, or the relevant institutional bodies.

Decisions arising from these processes will be communicated in a reasoned manner and within reasonable timeframes. In the case of appeals, the review will be based on the editorial record, the reports issued during the process, and any verifiable evidence provided by the parties involved. The journal reserves the right to uphold the original decision when no sufficient academic, technical, or ethical grounds are presented to justify its modification.
