Data Availability

All manuscripts submitted to CESTA must include a specific Data and Materials Availability Statement. This statement should clearly indicate where the data supporting the results, conclusions, or analyses presented in the article can be accessed and, whenever applicable, should include persistent links to datasets deposited in public repositories.

Data availability statements may be presented in different ways depending on the nature of the study and the access conditions applicable to the information. Accepted formats include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Data available in a public repository:
The datasets generated and/or analyzed during the current study are available in the [repository name] repository at the following persistent link: [URL or DOI].
  • Data not publicly available:
The datasets generated and/or analyzed during the current study are not publicly available due to [state reason: ethical, legal, contractual, or confidentiality restrictions]. However, they may be requested from the corresponding author, subject to the applicable conditions.
  • Publicly available or public-domain data:
When the study uses open-access or public-domain datasets, these must be properly cited in the manuscript. The corresponding reference must include a DOI, a persistent URL, or another verifiable identifier.

CESTA recommends that data availability statements be precise, verifiable, and consistent with the actual conditions governing access, use, and reuse of the information associated with the manuscript.
