Abstract

The article presents the results of the research on Family Guidance models in Secondary Education carried out with Catholic training schools in the Bogotá city (Colombia), between 2016 and 2017. The study was proposed from the relationship between agents and contexts in the Family Orientation —which become
the units of understanding— in interaction with three educational institutions of basic and secondary education. The methodology integrated the review of institutional documents of each school and conducting interviews and focus groups with the educational community, with the work with educational counselors,
students, fathers, mothers, caregivers and directors being decisive, through hermeneutics as an epistemo logical tradition. The results offer managers and teachers of secondary education institutions, alternatives of
action to promote family orientation, as a valid option for addressing school problems in relation to families
and students.
