Abstract


Not always conformity exists between what they propose the religions and the offers of the science in topics related to the health and the disease, presented for some important creeds differences in relation to the comprehension of the mental illness. The text develops historical modals that indicate since in the history of west these misunderstandings they have led to consolidating two very different lines from thought in his offers: A vision demonology in which the interpretation of the mental illness prevails as a demons’ possession and own other one of the sciences of the health where there prevail biological, psychological, social theories and even the meeting of these. In the theoretical modals contributions from different places of social science where it distinguishes itself as the religious beliefs generate an important effect in the form as the persons assume his way of life. It is here where a contribution is realized to the subject matter presenting the results of an investigation realized in the University Corporation of the Coast in Barranquilla, Colombia where I advance on: The form like Christian believers they understand the mental illness describing since this it influences they way of life health. The results value the place and the contributions of the professionals of the health for the topic and propose a discussion on the topic Christian speech and speech of the science with relation to the mental illness.
