Phonological awareness and its relation with reading difficulties

Abstract
Reading ability involves a series of processes that humans acquire during their development, which allow you to acquire knowledge and broaden their understanding of the world. To carry out this process is necessary in the first years of life are put in place a solid foundation in the ability to analyze and synthesize the phonetic elements of language, which is called: phonological awareness and becomes a predictor of success or failure in learning to read. Given this dependency, this study correlated variables: phonological awareness and reading difficulties in a population of students in second grade at a public institution owned by the application of instruments Assessment Questionnaire Learning Disabilities (CEPA) and Sub reading test and metalinguistic skills of ENI (Child Neuro- psychological Assessment).
