Abstract

Psychological welfare has been widely approached; however, it has hardly been studied from a disaster and emergency stance. The objective of the research that sprung this paper was to describe life conditions and psychological welfare of the adolescents affect-ed by the rain season in Campo de la Cruz, Municipality of Atlantico Department, as the first phase of an  intervention  project. A  quantitative  and  descriptive  research  was  performed  in  which  228  students aged 13 to 18 participated. It is concluded that after the disaster, a significant group of adolescents report a  general  satisfaction  regarding  different  areas  of life, but they are not satisfied with their economic conditions or with the spaces available for their education activities.
