Relation between Reading Comprehension, Intelligence and Performance in the Saber Pro Test in a Group of University Students

Abstract
Reading comprehension and cognitive processing play an important role in the moment when students face knowledge tests, something which has been evidenced in ICFES briefs both for elementary and secondary education, and for higher education (Icfes, 2010; 2011; 2012). This research had as an objective to provide a correlation of the total score and the reading comprehension score of Saber Pro test (2011-i) with the scores achieved in tests evaluating working memory, verbal intelligence and general intelligence through the Rias intelligence test, and with scores for cognitive skills in reading comprehension through the reading comprehension test. among the results, it was established that the working memory and the general intelligence index can constitute performance estimators for Saber Pro tests.
