University educational spaces: a view from the students’ point of view

Abstract
Introduction: Educational spaces are configurative scenarios of academic life and experiences for the personal and professional development of students. Objective: To interpret the perceptions of students of a public university on educational spaces. Methodology: Qualitative research, interpretive descriptive. focus group techniques and in-depth interviews with leading students. information analyzed from hermeneutics. Results and discussion: Perceptions about physical spaces, facilities and furniture were interpreted as inhibiting the quality of life; perception of security-insecurity in the city is evident, the use of bicycles was valued to promote socialization, health and learning. The dispersion of university campuses in the city is considered a barrier for daily interactions. Conclusion: The university is life experience, it allows to build and strengthen university trajectories, which relate to experiences in the spaces of the city and contribute the educational process in a differential way.
