Civilization and Riverbank. Gabriel Carrasco´s use of urban images
Main Article Content
Abstract
According to his time´s technical possibilities, G. Carrasco displays a wide range of information formats in his publication: statistical graphs and charts, maps, diagrams, photographs, lithographs and drawings. The images, which seem to fulfill a role of illustration and complement, are used to present significant urban spaces, such as port facilities, railways or representative buildings, with a predominance of scenes from the city of Rosario. This work aims to address the incorporation of these urban images in the different editions of this publication, in order to inquire about the criteria chosen for their use, assuming that they fulfill a relevant role in the discursive construction.
